2012 Spotlight #3: Entertainment

I chose this one for my third because 1) I thought the last one was kinda lame and I wanted to make up for it and 2) I thought the entertainment that came out in 2012 was, no doubt about it, pretty fabsomaziperb. I like to break up entertainment into three categories: Movies, Music and Books. I would do fashion, except I don't really care much about whats "in" when it comes to fashion - I like to follow my own style. With music, movies and books, however, I think that everything keeps getting better. So  . . .

1. Movies. Seriously - have you seen the movies that have come out this year? Men in Black III, Titanic, The Hunger Games - It's like a milestone in the entertainment world! I have laughed, cried, and thrown popcorn all over the place in 2012. *sniffle.*

2. Books. Insurgent. The Mark of Athena. Cinder. Are you with me here? What I'm trying to say is that the books in 2012 that came out were just so . . . . . .phestouziperb (get it? Phestougical and Fabsomaziperb? I am on a roll here!) Like I said, for everything in the entertainment world, every year seems to get better than the last. And a lot of the best books I have EVER read, even though they came out earlier, I read in 2012. Pathetic . . .. but this year is AWE-some!

3. Music. If you have not heard at least one song from the new JB or Taylor Swift album, well then, I am very disappointed in you. Well, I'm sorry but . . . . anyway, I am a huge fan of music. The arts pretty much revolves around my life, and . . .2012 has been one of the greatest years in music history! In my opinion. Anyway, if you haven't already, I suggest, on YouTube, you check out I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift (The Music Video is pretty bad so . . . .) and also I Found You by the Wanted (The music video for this one, I haven't seen, but, yeah.)

Important: I want to take up the opportunity in this post to announce two things that are very important:

  • I will be posting a Top Ten Movies, Books, and Music that have come out in 2012. (Except for books it will be books that I read in 2012). Stay tuned! And if you're wondering why this isn't a top 20, then . . .
  • I will be changing Top 20 to just Top _. The reason? Because for some things, I don't have enough to do twenty, and for others. twenty seems like nothingness. So stay tuned for changes in that too.

2012 Spotlight #2: YouTube

Again, wanted to make a statement.

Okay, so this was probably the last thing you were expecting. I mean, YouTube has been around for, like, ten years. So why would I make this a 2012 Spotlight?

Watch and learn, my friends:

Sorry, I'm trying to stay away from lots of text . . . but I mean, isn't it just so . . .fabsomaziperb? Tell me your thoughts in the comments!

2012 Spotlight #1: One Direction

Sorry that picture had to be so large. I just wanted to make a statement.

When I think of the differences between 2011 and 2012, One Direction is the first thing that pops into my mind. I mean, look at how successful, well-known, and fabsomaziperb they've become. It's hard not to worship them and their music, and not to smile at their hillolapperness and songs.

Oh and today is Louis' Birthday! Happy Birthday!!!!

Doctor, Doctor!

A man went to a doctor and exclaimed in distress, "doctor, doctor, I'm half deaf!"
The doctor wasn't impressed. "You're either deaf or you're not deaf. As simple as that."
But the man stood his ground. "No. I'm half deaf."
They argued back and forth, until the doctor sighed heavily and told the man to go to the corner. "Repeat after me," he instructed, "eighty-eight."
The man answered, "forty-two."

Book Review - Seriously, I'm Kidding

I was barely into this book when I fell in love with it. I'm not usually one to read - let alone like - autobiographies but this is way different. So without further ado . ..
Title: Seriously, I'm Kidding
Author: Ellen DeGeneres
Rating: PG (Mild references to nudity and sexuality)
Grade: A+
Genres: Autobiography, Humour
Summary: Ellen DeGeneres, a witty and well-loved talk show host, takes on everything from meditation to labels to big words in a witty and relaxing way.
Favourite Quote(s):
"For the record, I find musicals very unrealistic. If I suddenly turned to Portia [de Rossi] and burst into a song about how we're out of orange juice, I don't thik she would just immediately join in. I think she would be very confused and concerned for me."

"Haiku sounds like I'm
Saying hi to someone named
Ku. Hi, Ku. Hello."

"'You're my favourite reader. Ever, of all time. Shhh . . .don't tell the other readers.'"

"The truth is, last June I was driving through a tunnel while I was on the phone with my agent and my cell service was spotty. I said 'I just got a great IKEA table for my breakfast nook.' My agent thought I said, 'I've got a great idea for m newest book' . . . similiarly, a few years ago, I told my agent, "I think I've got some fudge on my lapel." and he thought I said, "I want to be a judge on American Idol.". . . and then I learnt my agent's name was Marvin, not Blarvin.

My Notes: This book is funny, addictive, and interesting. Ellen not only sends you laughing head over heels my head in her outrageous witty and humour, but she also makes a lightbulb flash over your head and go "oh yeah." Ellen is insightful, creative, and funny, and this book is true, sacred, living proof of that.
