Jealousy - Shape Up or Ship Out

Dear Jealousy,

To be completely frank, I think you are one of the most abominable traits one can find around here. For one thing, you don't exactly make the wearer of your trait happy, or anything like that. However, this would be a drawback similar to anger, greed, or vanity. The thing with you, Jealously, is that you are rather unidentifiable. If a person should be jealous, (and this is from personal experiences) one cannot realize it at first. They begin to loathe the person (or thing, really) that causes them this emotion, for no good reason. So that person has a mansion with five swimming pools and a limo bigger than your room. In the future, how is that going to affect you in the slightest? As long as you carry on living your life to the fullest, you won't be physically hurt in any way.

Jealousy, you also are a very cunning trait. See, you creep up to people and stab them in the back with your armed knife, causing them to think a whole bunch of rather regretful thoughts, and not knowing why. When someone deems them Jealous, their response? "I am NOT!" And if you really get to someone, they begin to do many things (also regretful) causing many other traits to break out of their shells and take charge (to name a few: anger, vanity, isolation).

And so, Jealousy, you are not only a trait wicked and powerful in your own way, you cause the feelings of others to be hurt in entirety. So, in conclusion, you had better Shape Up or Ship Out.

Going all Nerdy Over Divergent Stuff

If you missed my last post, you ought to know that the 3rd book of Divergent is called Allegiant, and will be released October 22 2013. SOOOO over the last month-or-so I have been privately raving over the one question - WHAT WILL BE THE ALLEGIANT COVER?

I nearly fainted out of surprise when I (being the devoted fan I am . . . :) ) checked Veronica Roth's blog and found this:

http://veronicarothbooks.blogspot.ca/2013/05/allegiant-cover.html

But, since I don't want to leave you with that click-the-link-cliffhanger thing, here's the cover:

EHMAGOD!!!!!!! Isn't it just . . . amazing?

And recently a picture was revealed from the movie of Divergent . . . yeah.

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/04/24/shailene-woodley-divergent-first-look/

I have to say, I'm really looking forward to this movie - I don't have complete faith in Shailene Woodley (possibly because I haven't really seen her act . . . remind me to watch the Descendants someday) but I DO have complete faith in Kate Winslet. As far as Kate Winslet is concerned, I'm happy.

Meeting Cassandra Clare

Pictures of Cassandra and Sarah Rees are in this post.

So in case it's not clear by the title I MET CASSANDRA CLARE!!! It was awesome, and i got Clockwork Princess and City of Bones signed by her.

Things I Learnt from Cassandra Clare:

1. Always smile (She was funny but she didn't)

2. Everyone has an attribute that makes them really likeable. For Cassie, it's humour

3. You cannot be liked by everyone. She shared a quote from Harry Potter,  "if you want universal popularity, you're going to be waiting a long time."

4. Vancouver rocks. This was her one and only stop in Canada, so . . .

Cassandra Clare is fabsomaziperb and makes me so proud that I have read her books.

Oh and in the pictures she is the one in the green dress.

Check out the Mortal Instruments series and the Infernal Devices trilogy in bookstores!

Golden Globes Review

The Hosting/Presenting of Awards: Fabsomaziperb. One of the best hosting and presenting I have ever seen. From Tina and Amy's casual yet hilarious jokes, to creative ways of handing over the Golden Globe, everything was top notch and amazing. Here is a video of the best presenting of the night:
I know right? That had me cracking up for the longest time - these people are amazing.

The Winners: Eh. But then again, it's an award show. right? The one thing I'm REALLY upset about is that neither Sofia Vergara nor Modern Family won anything. But at least "JLaw" won best actress in musical or comedy - that had me beaming with pride.

The Outfits: The dresses and tuxes were pretty good, nothing special. The makeup was also pretty good. I don't really have anything special to say about this one, just that, well, average.

The Overall Appearance: 4/5 stars. And NOT a waste of my time, which I am thankful for. I have never actually bothered to watch the Golden Globes in the past, but now I am a huge supporter of it. Great Junior Prom to The Oscars Senior Prom!

Golden Globes 2013 - Predictions

With the Golden Globes coming up tonight, I thought I'd make a list of predictions that I have for who's going to win and who's, well, not going to win. I won't look at all the categories, however, just a few.

Here we go . . .

Movies

Best Drama
Argo. Hands down. I haven't seen it, but I have heard AMAZING things about it, and am super excited.

Best Musical/Comedy
Les Miserables has a good story and everything, but all in all, Silver Linings Playbook seriously deserves the prize. Again, haven't seen it, but it has everything most of us look for in a fabsomaziperb comedy - a simple story, that's easy to get, and full of laughs. And come on - Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper? Come on!

Best Director
No predictions for this one - just pointing out that Kathryn Bigelow is the only woman director nominated . . .? Kinda want her to win. But Steven Spielberg is a renowned success, Ben Affleck and Argo were pretty successful . . . this is gonna be a hard one.

Also, I just noticed that the nominees for Best Drama were Argo, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Django Unchained, and Zero Dark Thirty, and the nominees for Best Director were the directors of all those movies  .  . .

Anyway.

Best Actor in Musical or Comedy
Hugh Jackman for Les Miserables. That movie is supposed to be amazing. You know, doing this, I can't believe how many movies I haven't seen. . .

Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy
Jennifer Lawrence. JL is so fabsomaziperbly phestougical. It's simple.

Best Supporting Actress.
Without a doubt, Anne Hathaway. She is stellar in every pair of shoes she steps in.

Best Animated Feature.
My votes for this one go to Brave. Not only is it funny, it serves the message that women can do just as much as men can do, and possibly more. Although, Hotel Transylvania has a pretty good chance too. . .

Best Original Song
Skyfall - Adele. All the way. This song has been widely praised, and has caught and held my attention numerous times. I would be surprised if Adele doesn't walk home with an award tonight.

Television

Best TV Comedy or Musical
I really really REALLY want Modern Family to win this one. But I'm a good person, and therefore admit that the Big Bang Theory has a slightly better chance . . . . no. No Saara, don't think about it. Modern Family will win. Even if it's the last thing I do.

Best Actress in a TV Comedy
Congrats on the hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey on getting nominated for this one! However, I think Tina Fey and Zooey Deschanel have a slightly better chance of winning, due to the fact that their show is more successful.

Best Actor in a TV Comedy
Two words - Jim Parsons

Best Supporting Actress in a TV Show, Miniseries or Movie
Sofia Vergara!!! Totes!!! The only thing that bugs me is that she's getting all the nominations and Julie Bowen isn't . . . but then I remember her accent and it all goes away.

Best Supporting Actor in a TV Show, Miniseries or Movie
Huge congrats to Eric Stonestreet! So happy for him. No predictions for this one, though. Juuuust saying.

Tune in to the Golden Globes tonight! Full review tomorrow! :)

Quiz - Why Will 2013 be YOUR Year?

I suspect that the majority of us cannot accept the fact that it's 2013. Already. But face it, ladies - it's already here, and will pass us by like *snaps fingers* that. So why will 2013 be your year? Take this quiz to find out!

1. When there's a new girl at my school, I know we'll be friends when she-
a) sits with me at lunch.
b) doesn't distract me during class.
c) gives me good advice when I'm trying something new.
d) asks me if I wanna go shopping with her.

2. What is your favourite movie right now?
a) Mean Girls or Clueless. I've seen it, like, twelve times.
b) Titanic - both the movie and the documentary.
c) Radio Rebel. It's so inspirational, and I can totally relate to Tara.
d) Struck by Lightning. It hasn't actually come out yet, but my rents won a private showing from this contest. I just love everything new!

3. Okay, how about books? What's your fav?
a) I get through books pretty quickly and I read thin ones, so I don't spend all my time reading and can hang with my peeps. I like books also based on movies, or vice versa. Right now my favourite is probably the Pretty Little Liars series.
b) I can't decide. Somewhere between The Mortal Instruments and The Lord of the Rings. And the Hunger Games.
c) I used to like a lot of books, but now I'm trying to watch more movies, I like change.
d) Clockwork Princess. Oh wait, that hasn't come out yet. Heh heh.

4. If you could trade places with any other person for a week, who would it be?
a) Ellen DeGeneres. She gets to meet and talk to a whole bunch of people every day. That is da LIFE.
b) Albert Einstein. A new feeling of discovery every day. Fabulous!
c) Any shapeshifter. A new person every day would be so cool!
d) Whoever's currently the most famous and highest paid actor/actress.

5. What occupation do you want to have when you're older?
a) A talk-show host. Talking and talking and talking . . . I would never get tired!
b) A doctor. Not only am I helping people, but I am also making $$$MONEY$$$
c) I don't really know at the moment. Currently, I'm trying to discover what I like most and who I really am.
d) A fashion career in Paris. I would totes rock the latest trends,

Here are your results . . .

Mostly A's: You'll make more friends and become more social. During 2013, you'll either discover a more social side to you, or will enhance and feel confident in the one you've already discovered. You'll make new friends, go through the happenings of life, and feel a lot more outgoing. Keep in mind, however, to also step back and let others speak their mind too. Although you will be a well-loved person, others deserve a chance to speak up as well.

Mostly B's: You'll get good grades. In 2013, you're determined side will kick in, and you will show the world more of the hardworking and self-disciplined side of you. Nothing will stand in your way in your quest to reach the top of the class, and you will find easier ways to get your homework done in the best way you can and to pay even greater attention in class. The only advice I would give you is to remember that schoolwork isn't everything. Set aside some time for family, friends, and relaxation, and you are bound to do even more fabsomaziperbly.

Mostly C's: You'll discover a new talent of yours. In 2013, you will learn to become more patient, and to look at things in a more positive light. This will help you when you experiment to discover a new talent of yours. You will find an art that you thrive in, and use all of your special skills to complete it to it's maximum. However, be mindful of those other talents you have. Don't focus on your new one so much that you forget your others.

Mostly D's: You'll rock the latest trends. Helloooooooo Miss World! This year, you will find an alert and focused side of yours, and it will play in to your role of finding and rocking the latest trends. You will be the one to put ______ in style at your school, and will be able to experience things that others don't. Be careful, however, not to brag about all your latest discoveries, and don't throw away your life just to buy that new JB album. However, giving advice and recommendations is a good idea! Something to think about . . .

Thank you for taking this quiz!
