With the Golden Globes coming up tonight, I thought I'd make a list of predictions that I have for who's going to win and who's, well, not going to win. I won't look at all the categories, however, just a few.
Here we go . . .
Movies
Best Drama
Argo. Hands down. I haven't seen it, but I have heard AMAZING things about it, and am super excited.
Best Musical/Comedy
Les Miserables has a good story and everything, but all in all, Silver Linings Playbook seriously deserves the prize. Again, haven't seen it, but it has everything most of us look for in a fabsomaziperb comedy - a simple story, that's easy to get, and full of laughs. And come on - Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper? Come on!
Best Director
No predictions for this one - just pointing out that Kathryn Bigelow is the only woman director nominated . . .? Kinda want her to win. But Steven Spielberg is a renowned success, Ben Affleck and Argo were pretty successful . . . this is gonna be a hard one.
Also, I just noticed that the nominees for Best Drama were Argo, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Django Unchained, and Zero Dark Thirty, and the nominees for Best Director were the directors of all those movies . . .
Anyway.
Best Actor in Musical or Comedy
Hugh Jackman for Les Miserables. That movie is supposed to be amazing. You know, doing this, I can't believe how many movies I haven't seen. . .
Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy
Jennifer Lawrence. JL is so fabsomaziperbly phestougical. It's simple.
Best Supporting Actress.
Without a doubt, Anne Hathaway. She is stellar in every pair of shoes she steps in.
Best Animated Feature.
My votes for this one go to Brave. Not only is it funny, it serves the message that women can do just as much as men can do, and possibly more. Although, Hotel Transylvania has a pretty good chance too. . .
Best Original Song
Skyfall - Adele. All the way. This song has been widely praised, and has caught and held my attention numerous times. I would be surprised if Adele doesn't walk home with an award tonight.
Television
Best TV Comedy or Musical
I really really REALLY want Modern Family to win this one. But I'm a good person, and therefore admit that the Big Bang Theory has a slightly better chance . . . . no. No Saara, don't think about it. Modern Family will win. Even if it's the last thing I do.
Best Actress in a TV Comedy
Congrats on the hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey on getting nominated for this one! However, I think Tina Fey and Zooey Deschanel have a slightly better chance of winning, due to the fact that their show is more successful.
Best Actor in a TV Comedy
Two words - Jim Parsons
Best Supporting Actress in a TV Show, Miniseries or Movie
Sofia Vergara!!! Totes!!! The only thing that bugs me is that she's getting all the nominations and Julie Bowen isn't . . . but then I remember her accent and it all goes away.
Best Supporting Actor in a TV Show, Miniseries or Movie
Huge congrats to Eric Stonestreet! So happy for him. No predictions for this one, though. Juuuust saying.
Tune in to the Golden Globes tonight! Full review tomorrow! :)
