The Hunger Games vs. Harry Potter

Hello, people! Today I'm gonna debate on which is better - the Hunger Games or Harry Potter. You can post what you think in the comments or in an upcoming poll, or both.

First up: Harry Potter!


Harry Potter is awesome because:

- It is full of suspense, mystery and adventure
- It has cliffhangers that leave you hanging on the edge of your seat
- It makes you cry, laugh, cry, and laugh again
- It builds your vocabulary
- You grow to like the characters
- The story line is phenomenally put together, and everything makes sense
- You learn many things from it, such as:

• Working together can help you achieve many things
• Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, as long as you remember to turn on the light
• Never give up, and you will achieve greatness 
• Good rules over evil
• The Dark Side is retarded. Period.

Harry Potter is NOT awesome because:

- Some parts are boring

- I have to go running to the dictionary a lot, but I guess that's a good thing

- Half of my favourite characters die! :( 

- The author uses "said" a bit much (That one's for you, AgainstDaStereotype!)

Second up: The Hunger Games!

The Hunger Games is awesome because:

- It is full of suspense, mystery and adventure

- It has cliffhangers that leave you hanging on the edge of your seat

- It triggers your emotions 24/7

- You grow to ADORE the characters

- The story line is well put together

- It focuses on a real life global issue (governments across the world)
-It teaches you things, such as

• Follow your gut
• Stand up for what you believe in
• A promise is a promise, and a promise must be kept
• What the heck is war good for?
• The dark side is stupid. Period.

The Hunger Games is NOT awesome because:

- The third book, Mockingjay, isn't (ahem) that great

- The author uses "says" a bit much

- The author isn't very descriptive

- Some parts are boring
